This October, Sacred Society becomes a home for Día de los Muertos, a tradition that honors life, memory, and community. Our space will be transformed with marigolds, candles, papel picado, and a community ofrenda.

Día de los Muertos Celebration
Spend the afternoon with activities for all ages, tamales, and seasonal drinks. Bring a photo and a note for someone you love to leave on the community ofrenda. The day ends with a closing ceremony to honor the season.

Elements of the Tradition
Marigolds (Cempasúchil)
Known as the “flower of the dead,” their vibrant color and scent are believed to guide loved ones back home. Families often line pathways and decorate altars with them.
Ofrendas (Altars)
Built with photos, candles, food, and favorite belongings, ofrendas are the heart of the celebration, welcoming ancestors and keeping their memory alive within the family.
Family Gatherings
Loved ones come together to share stories, cook traditional foods, decorate, and visit cemeteries. It is a time to laugh, sing, and remember.
Sugar Skulls & Pan de Muerto
Joyful symbols placed on altars and shared among family, reminding us that remembrance is both sweet and sustaining.
